Can I use textPortal to copy and paste between devices?

Yes. Copy text on the sending device, paste it into the textPortal canvas, and the other device sees it instantly. From there you can copy it into whatever app you need. It works as a relay clipboard for any two devices, with nothing to install on either side.

Does it work between Mac and Windows?

Yes. Any device with a modern browser works: Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android.

How do I copy and paste text from one device to another?

Open textportal.app on both devices, generate a session key on one, enter it on the other. Your text syncs in real time.

Can I share one key with multiple people?

Yes. A key is not limited to one receiver. Share it with as many people as you want, and everyone who enters it joins the same session and sees the same live text. It works for a one-to-one transfer or for sending one snippet, link, or code to a whole group at once.

Do I need to create an account?

No account needed to receive text. Create a free account to share from your own canvas.

Is my text private?

Yes. We do not read, log, or retain your content. Sessions are ephemeral and all shared text is permanently deleted when the key expires. Nothing is stored long-term.

How is this different from email or messaging apps?

No login on the receiving end, no conversation history, no notifications. Just paste and receive. Designed for one-shot transfers, not ongoing communication.

Is textPortal free?

Yes. Receiving text needs no account at all, and a free account lets you create your own sessions and generate keys. Free sessions hold up to 500 characters. The paid Personal plan only adds capacity: a higher character limit, longer sessions, and saved canvases.

What's the Personal plan?

Personal unlocks longer sessions (up to 60 min), higher character limits (10,000 chars), and saved canvases. $2/month or $15/year.
